The College Library of College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti was established in 1978 along the other units of the College. However, the library was automated in 2011 for effective and efficient delivery of its services.
The College Library, like any other higher institutions library worth its salt, is established to serve the academic interest of its parent organization, which is the College, it strives to provide both solicited and unsolicited assistant and access to a wide spectrumof human knowledge from local and international environments assembled in an orderly manner to the users who need them.
Access to rare and up-to-date information in diverse subject areas is ensured through loan, counseling answering information request, interlibrary loan, browsing, internet and so on. The Library does this by selecting acquiring, collecting and organizing various information resources with a view to disseminating accurate and up-to-date information to the College community and beyond. Students are open to books, journals, magazines, reference materials, computer, past projects and theses in their courses while the academic staff are encourages to do research and private studies. Personalised service is also provided on demand.
The New College Library Complex is situated in a serene environment surrounded by schools. The foundation of the building was laid in 1988 only to witness forced occupation in June 2002. Work is far from being completed, but the imposing structure (uncompleted at it is) remains a pride to the College.
Every user of the Library Complex is expected to formally register with the Library through the Circulation Section. The use of the Library is open to the NCE and Degree regular students and all bonafide members of staff, whether junior or senior, academic or non-academic. The Library equally accommodates the Sandwich NCE programme students and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka Sandwich Degree students. The two residential Feautured Links of students – the regular NCE and UNN students are made to register for the current session in their first year and thereafter renew annually their registration throughout their stay in the College.

The College Library is organized into sections with each section headed by a professional librarian, all reporting to the office of the College Librarian. The sections are Librarian's Office, Collection Development/Acquisition, Reference, Serials, Cataloguing and Classification, Circulation and E-Library.
There is staff strength of five workers made up of the College Librarian, Secretary, Executive Officer, a Clerical Assistant and a Cleaner/Messenger. The Section handles Library Administration and formulated Library Policies. Information from the College Central Administration and other segments of the College is disseminated from the section. The College Librarian heads overall supervision and caters for the staff welfare, Readers are advised to lodge their complains/suggestions here.
